Bonito is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, in the Central-West Region of the country. in the previous 2008 division, it belonged to the microregion of Bodoquena and the mesoregion of Sudoeste de Mato Grosso do Sul. The municipal seat lies about 278 km (173 mi) from Campo Grande by road, at the foot of the Serra da Bodoquena.
The municipality covers an area of 5,373.016 km2 (2,074.533 sq mi) and had a population of 23,659 at the 2022 census; the IBGE estimate for July 1, 2026, was 25,294 inhabitants. Its territory was separated from Miranda in 1948, having originated in the settlement formed on the lands of the old Rincão Bonito farm.
Bonito is one of Brazil's main ecotourism destinations, with attractions such as crystal-clear rivers, waterfalls, grottoes, caves and sinkholes, and it is often called the "Brazilian capital of ecotourism". The municipal economy combines tourism with agriculture and livestock farming, particularly the cultivation of soybeans and maize and the raising of cattle; in 2023, the gross domestic product (GDP) at current prices totaled R$1.586 billion, with a GDP per capita of R$67,060.18.
