Waikanae (English: , Māori pronunciation: [ˈwaikaˈnae] ) is a town on the Kāpiti Coast, 60 km (37 mi) north of the Wellington, New Zealand. The name is a Māori word meaning "waters" (wai) "of the grey mullet".
