About Olkusz

Olkusz [ˈɔlkuʂ] (Yiddish: עלקיש Elkish) is a town in southern Poland with 36,607 inhabitants (2014). It is the capital of Olkusz County in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Founded in the Middle Ages, Olkusz is a former royal town of Poland, and features a medieval urban layout with defensive walls, a preserved market
