The CS Hammam-Lif player, Anis Ben Chouikha, scored the first goal in the history of the stadium. It also hosted 6 matches of the 2004 African Cup of Nations (24 January–14 February 2004), which Tunisia crowned after its 2–1 victory over the Morocco in the final match.
