Ternate (Indonesian pronunciation: [t̪ərˈnat̪e]), also known as the City of Ternate (Indonesian: Kota Ternate; Indonesian pronunciation: [ˌkot̪a t̪ərˈnat̪e]), is the city with the largest population in the province of North Maluku and an island in the Maluku Islands, Indonesia.
