Gwandu, also called Gando, is a local government area in Kebbi State, with its headquarters at Gwandu town. Established by the founder of the Kebbi Kingdom, Muhammadu Kanta, the settlement was used as royal farmland (gandu) by the kingdom's rulers for centuries.
